Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet

53 New Jersey 17, East Rutherford, NJ 07073

The Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet is my favorite place to eat at and I'm not the only one. Just look at these reviews! Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet is the best place because my family always goes together. My parents introduced me to this restaurant and it has been my favorite place to go since. This allows us to have some family time and get caught up on each other's lives.

                             How to make Lo Mein

This is the section of the buffet where you can watch the chef cook certain dishes.

My favorite dish to eat at the Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet is lo mein. If I had to survive on one plate of food I would definitely choose lo mein. Other than lo mein, they also give out french fries, pizza, broccoli, sushi, pork fried rice, dumplings, spare ribs, and more.
The prices per person are reasonable for the
amount of food that one devours.
There is also an ice-cream station.
If this restaurant closed down, I do not know what I would do. I would have lost my favorite restaurant and my famly would have to find a new restaurant to bond at. Hopefully, Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet does not shut down and I can continue going to my favorite restaurant.

Do Now 12/15

Mahatma Ghandi once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Ghandi fought for change and equality and was sadly assassinated for doing so. Ghandi is an inspiration so many, including myself. Ghandi did not allow anyone to put down his beliefs. When someone tried, he would continue fighting for what he believed was right. He was showing the world the change that this world needs. He is a part of that change.
I have always believed that everyone deserves to be equal- that there shouldn't be so many people fearing what is different. One of my life goals is to build houses in countries all around the world for those who desperately need them. This goal will not only warm my heart, but it will give a family a place to live. I also want to adopt a child one day because I believe that every child should be given the chance of being in a family. A family where he/she could play with his/her siblings and can spend Christmas with a family that loves him/her.
The life goals that one plans you ones future should also build a path for one to help others. It does not have to be a change as big as having peace all around the world. However, standing up for someone for bullying, or even just complimenting someone on how nice they look can make a big difference even though you might not think so. "Be the change you wish to see in the work." Listen to Ghandi's words and change what you don't like about this world instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you.

RSS Discussion Questions

1. Why did you select the sites you subscribed to?
I selected each of the sites because they were the ones that interested me the most. For example, for news I chose a website that informed me about what happens in Moonachie. This interests me because I live in Moonachie and I like participiating in the town's events.

2. Was it easy to find feeds and to subscribe to them?
At first it was hard to subscribe to the feeds because I didn't know what I was doing. However, after being informed on how to subscibe, it was easy to find something to fit each category. Although at times websites didn't have RSS feeds, making it frustrating.

3. Which sites were your favorites?
My favorite sites were the Moonachie News, the Billboards, and Updates on  Standford's medical field. The Moonachie News informs me about what is going on in my town, the Billboards tell me new music releases, and the Standford updates let me know what is going on in Standford's medical field.

4. What else can you use RSS feeds for?
To be honest, I am not sure what else RSS feeds can be used for other than notifying me of news I would like to know about.

5. How likely are you to continue to use RSS feeds in the future?
I might end up using RSS feeds for certain purposes that could help me in my future. For example the updates on Standford's Medical Field.

Do Now Writing Prompt

Wood-Ridge Jr/Sr Highschool has al kinds of classes included in its curriculum including art, financial literacy, web and more. As a teacher I have realized that many students love to dance, but cannot afford to pay for classes. I believe that there should be a dance class added to the curriculum as an elective for all to have a chance to sign up. The class take throughout the entire day. However, each student could only take a class a day. This class will show all to work together and how to follow directions.
The class could take place on the stage in the auditorium where there is enough room for atleast thirty students per class. there could be speackers and a computer in the room to play any kind of music that the teacher would like to use for that class. The level in which you would be put in would depend on your experience in dancing. You could be put in the beginner, intermediate, or expert section. If you have mastered the expert section and are entering a fourth year, you could join the class and put together a group to compete with others. Each marking period could be a different style of music and a performance can take place at the end of each marking period. As a teacher, I believe that having a dance class could change help the students have a bit of fun throughout their day while still learning a few lifeskills.

Wiki Research

"Wiki Wiki" Means "Quickly" in Hawaiian...

1.) Question: How can a wiki be used in a current class on your schedule. Pick a class and be specific how the class could create and use a Wiki on a regular basis.

Answer: Wiki can be created and used on a regular basis. For example, U.S History. In U.S. History, one of the main topics are the people's rights and it's effects on current laws and trials. Almost everyday in class, students go back and forth on certain topics to decide on who is right. For these debates, we create a WIki and debate online. The teacher can create the page and the students can comment back and forth on the discussion page. This will allow everyone to see the points, have a minute to think and respond. Aslo, this benefits everyone because it gives all a chance to respond-even the shy ones. These discussions could be used as a way to look back and review when a test is coming up. Using a Wiki for U.S History can give everyone a chance to give their opinion and have notes to look back at for tests.

2.) Question: What are the benefits of using a wiki in class?

Answer: The benefits of using Wiki in a class are that they allow everyone to give an opinion through the discussion page. It also helps create a page that is less bias aftesre being edited by many people.

3.) Question: How can we create a wiki in this class, what would we contribute to it and how would we utilize it on an on-going basis?

Answer: We could create a wiki in class to put together the history or the background of Wood-Ridge.

My Weekend

   My Weekend

Everyday of my weekend, I did the same thing-court practices. On November 15, 2014 I will be having my sweet 16 at The Empire Club. For my sweet I chose seven guys and seven girls who I a closest to and asked them to be in my court of honor. One of the jobs a court is given is to participate in one or more dances. From Thursday, November 6 to Sunday, November 9, I had the fourteen members come to my house to practice their routines.
The dance routine that I chose to have them do was a waltz to the song "Apoligize" by One Republic. However, teaching them the moves and getting them to do it was difficult, not because they couldn't dance, but because they fooled around too much. I would try to get there attention, but there were times where they would stress me out. Although I wanted to, I refused to yell at my friends and closest family because it made me feel bad to do so. Instead, I would do things like blast the music until they all realized I needed their attention back.
After a few days, it was Sunday, and the routine was not as well as it should have been, but somehow we managed to get the routine to perfection. I don't know exactly how it happened, but it might have been because I yelled at them for the first time in my entire life with them. Maybe that showed them how much I cared for this event. Although I'm not sure exactly what it was, I'm glad they decided to get to work.
It's only four days until my sweet and there are still two practices left. The worry I have and fear that something or someone will mess up my "perfect" day is enormous, but my excitement and trust in my family and friends still outweighs the horrible feeling. Perfection might not be real, but with the hope I have, I know it wil be perfect to me.

Do Now 9/29

An editorial is a something that someone writes and publishes for others to read and can be editted. Wikepedia is an excellent example of an editorial. Although Wikipedia is a very popular website, teachers do not usually reccomend it for research- atleast my teachers do not. Teachers would always say "You can use any source to help you research, however, DO NOT use wikipedia!" Everyone would always wonder why, but no one ever said anything. We just followed directions and didn't use wikipedia.
One day, one of the students in my class raised their hand and asked, "Why can't we use wikipedia?" The teacher then explained that wikipedia was not a trustworthy cite because anyone was allowed to edit the cite. This was a good thing because false information could be changed, but this could also be a bad thing. Many times, wikipedia is wrong because people change the correct information either on purpose or by accident. Many times the background is right, but the dtails are incorrect. Because of the false information, our teachers do not like when their students use wikipedia.
After reding this article, my opinion has not changed. I still do not believe people should be using wikipedia. Yes, it might be fun to edit information, but there are times where student's information can be wrong and will lead to others learning the wrong information. This means that when students are writing their own essays or reports for school, they'll get points taken off for incorrect information that others edited onto a cite. Using wikipedia might be a good way to know the backgrounf information of a certain topic, but should not be used as a source to write a report of any such.

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

Most schools provide technology for students. Luckily, I go to a one of these schools. There is technology being used in many different ways all the time. If you look closely, you will realize all the technology that is being used in your classes. One of the classes that I have is Sight Singing- a class where a group of students learn to read and write music and also learn to sing in tune with a group of other singers.

Mrs. Manolakakis is the Sight Singing teachers. She grew up in Wood-Ridge and always wished to have a music class where she could learn to sing and read music. After following her dreams, she graduated college and became a music teacher here in Wood-Ridge. Just like other teachers, she has a grading policy. Quizzes are 10%, tests are 30%, and participation, classwork and homework are 60% of your grade. In sight singing, Mrs. Mano is more focused on making sure her students are singing and reading the music notes which is why participation is the majority of your grade.
During my time spent in Mrs. Mano's class I hope to learn how to read music and understand how it is written.
For example, how do you read music sheets like the one above or like these music sheets? Also, I would like to learn how to hold notes longer while singing and sing more on pitch. Up to now, I have learned quite a bit. I can now tell the difference between notes and I know the count value for each note. What do I mean by this? Check it out. How is it that Mrs. Mano managed to teach me about this? She uses technology. Mrs. Mano has a projector connected to her computer that projects documents like our homework and classwork to review. In addition, she uses a microphone so that everyone in the classroom can hear her clearly. Hopefully by the end of this year, I can sing more on pitch and read music completely with no problem.
